Neiman Marcus Cookies

If you haven't tried these, you must! They are the best chocolate chip cookies!

1 c. butter at room temperature
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 c. oatmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
12 oz. chocolate chips

Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender until fine powder. Mix together all dry ingredients. Cream the butter and sugars. Add eggs one at a time and vanilla. Beat in the dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes. (I usually only bake them 8-9 minutes depending on your oven. They do not get really brown, so don't wait for that!!! They'll be too dry.) Makes about 5 dzn.

  1. my last nine are in the oven now. Delightful recipe. I probably didn't grind the oatmeal quite fine enough, but they are very good. Thanks for the recipe! We're taking them to a pool date with Daddy.
